Eric Carlson attended Harvard University where he received a BA Magna cum Laude in Social Studies and the Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. Eric has over 12 years of investment experience and joined Morgan Stanley in 1997. Prior to this, he worked at Neuberger Berman as a telecommunications analyst. Eric is currently a portfolio manager with Morgan Stanley’s emerging markets equity team where he manages the Morgan Stanley Emerging Europe, Middle East & North Africa fund alongside Paul Psaila.

Paul Psaila

Paul Psaila attended Brandeis University in Massachusetts where he obtained a BA in Political Science and received a Masters degree in Economic and Latin American Studies from the School of Advanced International Studies at John Hopkins University. Paul has over 13 years of investment experience and joined Morgan Stanley in 1994. Prior to this, he worked at the International Monetary Fund where he was a research associate. Paul is currently a portfolio manager for the emerging markets equity portfolios at Morgan Stanley. He manages the Morgan Stanley Emerging Europe, Middle East & North Africa fund with Eric Carlson. Paul is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Objective

The investment objective is to seek long-term capital appreciation, measured in Euro, by investing primarily in equity securities of issuers in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Fund may also invest on an ancillary basis in debt securities convertible into common shares and other equity linked investments of such issuers as well as in equity, equity-linked and debt securities of issuers in the Central Asian states of the former Soviet Union.
