About Dieter Küffer

One of the first water fund managers in Europe, Dieter Küffer thinks his sector offers lower risk and higher returns than the MSCI World index. The Zurich based fund manager, who works for Sustainable Asset Management (SAM) is seeing a number of macro economic trends which he thinks will continue to drive the strong performance of his SAM Sustainable Water fund. The fund has seen major inflows of cash as investors catch on to the success of the area, which has been far outstripping returns from regular global equities. Küffer thinks the correlation between his sustainable sector and the MSCI World will continue to decrease over time. Global demographic changes, ageing infrastructure, pollution control and climate change are all trends shaping the water industry and are opening new market needs, according to Küffer.
